January 10, 2017 – Social Segmentation of Non-Work & Non-Residential Destinations in Singapore

Date: January 10, 2017

Presenter: Mr. Roberto Ponce-Lopez (MIT-DUSP)

Supervisor: Professor Joseph FERREIRA (MIT)

Singapore is a transit oriented highly dense urban area. Over the last years, the city has been shifting towards a polycentric structure. Today, most places are accessible by transit; jobs cluster around various centers; mixed commercial and residential areas are common; while residential economic and ethnic segregation has been kept low. This spatial configuration impacts on people´s choices about non-work and non-residential destinations.
